Submissive by parasite

I read a fascinating news item this week. Many humans are made submissive by being infected, for life, with a parasite of cats, Toxoplasma gondii. In a nutshell, when this parasite infects mice in nature it causes the mice to go towards what they fear – prey animals like cats. They get a hit of dopamine (the pleasure chemical), when moving towards what the fear and what induces helplessness. So the cats get food and the parasite of the cats gets plenty of future well fed hosts.

I immediately imagined a fantasy world where all males were purposely infected when young, so as to be submissive to females throughout their lives. Would that be a bad thing??? I wonder how many submissives in the world  had cats when children?

Hi Miss Scarlett, Just have been waiting for your new slave training manual. How is it coming. Just curious as I can’t wait to purchase it. Take care, Pam

Interesting! Would you mind sharing a link to the article?

    Dear Mistress Scarlett,
Still love your website and you of course!
How interesting, had cats as a child and submissive since. Later had cats as an adult and even more submissive since that particular time. Of course this may just be natural progress or other factors, but there did seem to be a step change!
Can this be tested for ? I mean by a Doctor rather than by a superior Mistress!!
    Fascinating. x

It’s also been linked to schizophrenia, brain tumours and violent suicide. so maybe not such a hot idea:

    • Hmmmmm. Well, the suicide issue I thought was only with women, and I was not suggesting women should be infected. And I don’t agree there is any compelling evidence of a link with brain tumours. Of course, I was tongue in cheek anyway.

Toxoplasmosis is a very interesting organism – the idea that something so tiny can completely change a much larger animal’s behaviour is fascinating.

Tongue in cheek, maybe. But it is a delicious idea; a world of submissive men. Your skills in training women to be confident Superiors would be in great demand!

On this theme, there was an interesting article in the Telegraph last year. Some philosophers are thinking about the implications of using technology that makes time seem to pass more slowly. A prison term that seemed 1,000 years long could be served in 8 hours. This has fascinating possibilities for Dominant women, and intimidating ones for their slaves. Interesting that the person leading the study is a woman.
